Who can receive a wish?
The mission of Jason's Dreams for Kids, Inc. is to grant wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and survivorship. Children are referred to Jason's Dreams for Kids, Inc. by physicians, parents, or even other children. The final decision of whether a child qualifies for a wish rests with the treating physician.
Does a child's condition have to be terminal in order to qualify for a wish?
No. Many of our children who have received a wish go on to live healthy, normal lives.
Are there any restrictions on a wish?
Each wish granted by Jason's Dreams for Kids, Inc. follows strict policies and guidelines. We also follow the recommendations of the treating physician as to whether a wish can be fulfilled safely.
Does the child's family have to pay for the wish?
Absolutely not. All wish expenses are covered by Jason's Dreams for Kids, Inc., including all travel expenses and spending money (where appropriate).
How much does a wish cost?
The average cost of organizing and granting a wish varies depending on the type of wish granted, but a typical wish costs nearly $5,000.00.
What are your sources of funding?
We rely on individual contributions, corporate donations and sponsorships, planned gifts and our fundraising events to raise the monies needed to grant wishes.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Jason's Dreams for Kids, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. As such, financial contributions may be deductible for federal income tax purposes. Please consult with your financial advisor to determine the extent of tax deductibility.
